I would suggest placing citrus pieces and peppermint oil around the perimeter of your garden. They detest both smells. Fencing in your garden bed and placing human hair in bags on the fencing sometimes helps. They are pests, for sure. The other thing you might try is placing a squirrel corn cob feeder on a tree away from your garden bed. That and peanuts are a good distraction for them. Hope this helps!
Try applying blood meal and spray castor oil,make a spray with crushed hopper and garlic.
Find their nest. Pour some gas in it, the fumes penetrate, they will move out.
My suggestion depends on the population in your area. Since I have a problem with garden and raiding apple trees. I have tried many of the suggestions above without success. My method I call "squirrel relocation program", using a very humane Havahart trap baited with peanuts or an apple covered with peanut butter they will come. Start prior to the growing season and keep it baited during the season. The key is to transport these guys to their new home where they have a food source, woods and water. I drive approximately 4 miles, cross a river and release them near a corn field, surrounded by woods. Since I release them in the same location I suspect they eventually reunite in a safe area away from my garden. Traps are reasonably priced on Amazon.
