Once the leak has been fixed, wash any moldy area down with a sponge dipped in a 1:4 solution of bleach:water. Let it dry completely, then paint with a good mildew proof/resistant paint, like Valspar reserve or Behr premium plus ultra

The surface mold is just a sign that the drywall is compromised. Mold grows from inside out. Washing the surface won't solve the problem. You need to check the insulation in the attic, you may need to replace the insulation and the drywall. If you try washing it off and it comes back the drywall is compromised.

I would have a professional come look at the area and if necessary remove it if it is black mold. Black mold grows quickly and can very detrimental to your health.

I sprayed where it had leaked with clorox clean up and the stain disappeared.

if the mold reappears you may have to replace the drywall and insulation. Zinsser makes a good product to block stains from coming thru new paint.
