Placemat recovered

I have Cork placemats that are a bit grubby . Can I paint them without destroying the placemats. Any ideas how to make hem look good

You should look at Pinterest and Etsy, there are many people painting cork placemats. You would probably need to coat them with something that would protect the paint when you want to wipe them down.
I have successfully used Acrylic Paint on cork. If you need to keep paint in a straight line, use frog tape or painter's tape to prevent seeping. Have fun!
Use craft acrylic paints.
