I stuck some old pots of droopy English ivy out back of our shed under our big water oak. They started growing right out of the pot and all over the ground. I never knew ivy made such a lovely ground cover! We simply run the lawn mower around the edges of where we want it to stay contained and it is easy to maintain!

OH, thank you!!!! Will the ivy block the water and oxygen to the oak? Since we don't have grass in our 4 oak tree yard, this is a good idea.

Many people in Florida grow Cast Iron plants under the Oak trees. They need shade and are very pretty. They do not bloom that I have seen but, make sure you will never want to move them because they are almost impossible to kill.
