I bought a board. It was 1″ (thick) x 6″ (wide)  x 6′ (long).  Select Pine: with no knots, no sway or bow.

$18-$20 per board. Mine: $20

Sand all sides with medium grit sand paper, then follow with fine grit sand paper. Wipe dust away with a damp rag. Let dry.

Stain with your choice color stain. I chose dark walnut. Stain all sides, front & back.

Mark off inches and feet. Decide on text and what color and style font.
