Not exactly sure what you are asking. Are the edges of the host browning? Are they getting enough water?

Thank you for your reply. I may be watering them too much and two are in the middle of my backyead. Perhaps too much Missouri sun.

I assume you are asking about Hostas. Make sure they are not getting too much sun and they aren't getting too much water or not enough. Hostas are very drought tolerant. I only water mine, and I have a lot of them, maybe a couple times a season if by chance we go a couple of weeks without rain. I think the way the leaves cover such an area that the soil doesn't dry out so quickly like a lot of other plants. I do water plants that are young enough that they aren't at the mature size and fullness.

Thank you for your reply. I may be watering them too much. And two of my hostas are in the middle of my backyard in direct sun most of the day. So thank you for your advice.

Usually caused by too much sun OR getting water on the leaves & then the sun burns the leaves. Watering too little [not enough] also causes the leaves to turn brown on the edges.

Thank you for your reply. I do think I may be watering them too much. And two of my hostas are in the middle of my backyard in direct sun most of the day. I'll try watering them closer to the ground and not often too! Thank you again

No problem, I hope this helps you get your hostas back to health. Just remember they seem to like neglect and water only when there has been not rain for a while and it has been hot out. Hostas don't mind having a little morning sun, or perhaps a little evening sun, but not full sun all day. There is supposed to be some that like full sun, so you may want to research that if you want to keep hostas in your backyard.

Keep them moist not saturated at all times.
