They make hardwood decking squares that would work if your concrete is in good shape. You could turn the squares to make and interesting pattern. They are click and lock.
buy an indoor/outdoor rug, or paint your own right on to the concrete (lots of ideas in hometalk). A more expensive but lovely way to go is to lay down faux decking (Make sure you get the kind that is open underneath and can breathe with all the hot sun and moisture. (are there any condo rules you have to follow?)
Not really for the balcony since it is not seen. Thank you. my husband wants tile but I am concerned about getting it level.
Is the concrete too rough to use as a base for tile? Slate tile would look lovely. My SIL tiled her front porch and back patio, both concrete, with slate. Gorgeous! You can do slate or a slate look or actually anything that suits your style.
My floors inside are stained concrete. The foundation was scored in 20" squares before staining so it looks like large tile. That might be a good option for you, if the concrete's not too rough. I've seen people score existing porches/patios with a saw and then stain to get the same look.
Do let us see the results of whatever you decide to do.
the indoor outdoor rugs are so pretty, they have so many choices patterns and colors now. You can get some throw pillows to match, and even a matching colored candle in a hurricane vase and really transform the space.
