We have a chain link fence around our whole yard. We are rents and don't want to replace it. What can we do with it to make it stand out as much ?

Chain link fences can actually act as a great art canvas! You can grow a creeping flowering plant along the fence, hang up little succulent pots in any design you want, or cover it in colorful pinwheels. Have fun with it!

Your landlord probably would not complain if put in some plantings or shrubs along the fence. Just make sure you get the ok to do whatever you decide to do, who knows, maybe if he likes the idea he will help out with the expense.

For $40-50 you can buy about 50' of green, black or brown fabric made to cover fences - be sure you get the correct width. This is what is used on tennis courts, also referred to as a wind screen.

There are privacy screens made of bamboo, willow or reeds, etc., that come in varying heights. It's sold in rolls in nurseries or online. All you need to do is stand it up against the chain link fence, and fasten it on with plastic zip ties. It doesn't damage the fence, and to remove it, you just cut the ties and roll up the screening.
