How can I remove dog urine stains from a carpet?

We bought a house with a lovely Berber carpet in the basement. But the previous owners had small dogs that peed on it so it has stains in spots all over it. Any ideas to remove these?

You could use a black light if you're having trouble locating the spots that need cleaning. Then I'd wet that spot to loosen whats dry. Then use a pet carpet cleaner. Resolve has one. Baking soda and vinegar should also work.

I've been told to use boiling water on them to get out stains on carpets
just pour it on and then suck it up with a carpet cleaner machine
you may have to do it a few times to get all of it but it does work

Hire a pro who uses a water claw to remove contamination in the pad. That's where it is, that's where you can't clean.
