How deep does the container of a succulent garden need to be?

I want to make a succulent garden so how deep does the container have

    I think just about 4inches is good

    3 to 4 inches is good, just make sure you have drainage holes and good drawing soil...

    I agree with previous responses, that four inches is good. I have a Jade plant that is three feet tall and still in four inches of soil but the pot is ten inches in diameter. I do need to re-pot it and I fear I will find the roots going around in circles. I've been planning to re-pot it for years and have never gotten to it.

    Thank you so much I would like to make a fairy succulent garden and can't find some interested planter that's 4" tall any other ideas. Good luck in your repotting.
