I LOVE lupines! My favorite picture book was Miss Rumphius ( if you haven't read it, I highly suggest it, its about a woman who wants to make the world more beautiful and does so by planting lupines)
Lupine are easy to grow and they will shed seeds all over the place after they have flower so next year you will see little ones popping up all over the place. So you have to pull some up... now a lupine is a short lived plant only flowers for 3 years then dies that is where your seeds come in it take 2 years for the seeds to flower. good luck !
Hi Susan, if you buy a plant then the plant will have seeds or you can buy seeds and just put them in the ground but you wont have any flowers for one or two years. I like to buy the plant and see what color I'm getting. seeds take a long time !
