The dog keeps scratching a bedroom door down to the wood. I took a piece of the paint off and it looks like a coat is a light brownish covered in the white paint that is exposed. Any ideas on how to repair and repaint this door?

You could strip and sand lightly then re-paint. But honestly he/she will scratch up the paint again-- I would think about covering that portion or all maybe of the door w/ something (metal, fabric, glass) depends on your style
  • Sand door fill with M&H then paint it. Then train the dog

My cat started the same thing on their door, so I fastened a piece of carpet to the door.
  • I would buy a kick plate (which is on many front doors) and attach to the door. Unless you can break the dog of the habit, there is no sense in fixing the door. does the dog do it to get out/in? If you do repair door, then I would put a baby gate or barrier in front of the door until the dog realizes that he cannot scratch the door. good luck
