How do we make sure mold doesn't come back?

My daughter's window leaked during winter.. We discovered mold behind the curtains. We cleaned it with a bleach/water solution. Is there anything we need to put on to seal it so it doesn't return? Thanks. Laurie Elliott

If you cleaned it with bleach and it hasn't come back you killed the spores. If it does come back then it is inside the wall and that would need to be taken care of.

Clear silicone if you know exactly where the leak is . It comes in a large tube and you apply it with a caulk gun.

I would recommend a product called Kilz. It is basically a paint that will keep almost anything from bleeding back through, and it works very well on mold. I would, though, before you paint over it with anything, check to make sure that there is no residual mold. If there is any possibility that it is inside the wall I would replace at least a portion of the drywall. Also since you did spray it with bleach and water make sure it is fully dry before sealing it up. I hope this helps.

We had this problem in our bathroom because of the humidity in there from the shower. Clean the area very good & let dry completely. Lowe's & Walmart carries Kilz (like Nancy said). Kilz is a primer made specially for this purpose. Once the area is dry, paint on the primer & let it dry overnight. Put on a 2nd coat & let it dry too overnight. Paint as usual the next day. It will seal the area & prevent the mold from coming back. If you have further leaks tho, it could contaminate it again so I'd suggest you fix the leak first while you're at it. :)

Clean it with hydrogen peroxide , it kills it and also prevents it from coming back

Mold is a sign of humidity .. depending where it is .. if it is a bathroom you make sure there is an air flow for all to dry nicely .. Lots of times mold grows behind the wall because there is moisture created by leaking pipe or something that has to do with water. Please provide more details . Yes you can clean with peroxide and clorax but untill humidity is not under control it will come back
