Gently dig the butterfly bush plant up from its current location. When transplanting a butterfly bush, carefully dig up as much of the root system as possible and move to its new location for replanting. Lift the plant, roots and soil from the ground and move it to the prepared hole in the new location.

Once its in its new home, make sure to water more frequently than per normal until the roots take hold, and then you should be set!

You can gently move the bush to the new location in the spring or fall. Dig a hole; plant, making sure there are no air pockets. Water often until it takes root then, prune as needed.

Transplanting butterfly bushes should be done before any new growth appears or in the fall after flowering to alleviate any added stress on the shrub.

Yes but make sure you dig deep enough and wide around it to get as much root as possible
