You can make a paste with vinegar and baking soda. Smear the paste over the stains and wait a few minutes, then scrub and rinse with hot water. Good luck!

I sprinkled baking soda on the tub and then sprayed with vinegar and that worked really well. I am going to try a product I saw recommended on here though that people rave about. It is called BarKeepers Friend. Weird name, but is sold as a powder like comet and best price looks like Home Depot. I haven't tried it yet, but am going to buy some this week. We have well water and it builds up in tubs and toilets.

I'm hesitant to recommend this because it is a chemical cleaner but it works well. The Works toilet bowl cleaner removes rust and lime stains/buildup in porcelain toilets, tubs and sinks. It is caustic and could discolor metal drain covers. Please use with caution and protect skin and eyes. It's available at some grocery stores and at most Dollar General stores.

I have tried everything above and then some! I have tried all natural products but when it comes to the hard water stains, they just were way too stubborn! i recently found this product by Rain X that is in a yellow bottle and says removes soap scum and hard water stains. And let me tell you it actually works! The one I have is for glass but they also make it for the shower/tubs. I got mine at Menards but I'm sure Home Depot or Lowes would carry it as well. At least give it a try if you can find it and you won't regret it!

    Good luck!
