Bulbs do well in the early spring. Crocus and snowbells are among the first up. Tulips are identified as early, mid and late blooming and come in a variety of sizes and colors. A good bulb cataloglue will usually offer collections that cover most of spring. Perrenials such as coneflowers, beebalm and black eyed Susan offer bloomsall summer thru a frost. Annuals like zinnia, which comes in all heights and colors, marigolds, lantana, celosia offer good color in the heat of summer.
