How can I repurpose long vertical rectangles from a vertical blind?

The vertical blinds covered a patio door in their former life. Has anyone come up with an amazing use/craft for them? (I'd hate to discard them all and THEN see your amazing ideas.)

  • the very first thought I had was to weave them, These are picture of inspiration I found on the internet. I also see where some people have painted them.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. (I like the basket, though my pieces seem quite stiff....)

Mine were an awful color metal blind, not good for any decorative purpose, inherited from the previous owners. I saved some of the vanes to use as a straight-edge for painting, etc.

I used the excess blinds from my horizontal blinds to make a star for the outside wall at Christmas. Maybe cut yours in half.

If yours are the large verticals, weave them and use as a "rug" for your patio.
