How can I grow a hydrangea?

I have tried for years to get a hydrangea to grow somewhere in my yard, no matter where I put them they die! Can you tell me the best way to grow one? I've always wanted one in my yard. Please help!!!

I've had good luck with the Endless Summer hydrangeas, and with the H. serrata varieties.
If you have a generous neighbor that has a yard full of Hydrangea, ask for some cuttings in early spring, note their previous owner's sun/shade environs and soil conditions.
Get some rooting hormone online, dust and stick in the ground in partial shade...voila, a whole new generation of Hydrangea...and after all your patience and hard work, the deer creatures eat them.
Hydrangeas thrive in acidic soil so make sure you test the PH level of your soil first. If it's not very acidic, consider adding unused coffee grounds or baking soda or tomato juice periodically. They also like full sun.
