Painting old varnished and high gloss painted furniture...

What do I use to paint old furniture that has been varnished and lost it's luster. I haven't the energy for a lot of sanding. Is there something I can use that will stick to a varnished finish or a high gloss paint finish without a lot of work. Thanks.

  • Chalk paint requires little prep, just a light sanding and wiping the dust off.

If your not into sanding and you want to paint wash the furniture down with TSP and make sure you rinse it well with water then any enamel style paint that doesn't need a primer should work. The better the paint quality the better the paint finish.
