    Perennials should be planted in stages as not all will flower the entire summer.You can try Blackeyed Susan,Coreopsis,Lavender,Salvia,Coneflowers,Phlox

    depends where you are...in the south or the north...morning sun or evening sun, full shade/partial shade/no shade, moisture of the soil....google USDA zone number, then google perennials for your zone number....I live in the south and hibiscus or day lilies do wonderful...without the zone number, you may waste time and money for plants not suited for your area....for humming birds-plant plenty of reds and blues

    Some of my favorites are Day Lilies, Salvia (need to dead head to keep ot blooming), Russian Sage, Yarrow, Corn Flowers, Moonbeam Coreopsos and Shasta Daisies.
