a whole lot of cussing, praying, gasoline and fire and buy a few panda bears or pygmy goats....one plant that is almost impossible to get rid of....same as mint plants.

Digging, digging and more digging. Even a small piece left will regrow. Next dig along the property line at least 12 inches down a put in a barrier that extends an inch or two above the soil. Concrete or metal, any gaps, even the smallest crack and the bamboo will escape into your yard again. Good luck, that stuff is super invasive.

There is a glyphosate-based Roundup herbicide if you want to use chemicals, but if you want to do it naturally, you want to pull out as much as you can and keep pulling and keep cutting. If you can install some type of a barrier into the ground at least a foot deep, you can contain the bamboo to one area. It's a lot of work.

I had Japanese bamboo many years ago and tried everything including a herbicide with no luck. I then called the Cooperative Extension and they said the only way they knew was to remove the top three feet of soil and have it hauled away, lay a thick plastic protective barrier followed by three inches of rock salt, then cover with new bank run graven and then top soil.

FYI There is a Cooperative Extension affiliated with most colleges. They are extremely helpful.

Don't use Round up, it is very toxic, harmful to pets and humans. Also Round up Duo contains a derivative of Agent Orange. My husband is 40 % disabled due to Agent Orange exposure. Scary stuff.
