Try spraying some WD40 on the pole and watch the squirrels slide right off.

there are squirrel guards for feeders.....but I enjoy the squirrels and actually feed them. piece of scrap wood with a nail through it....ear of dried corn stuck onto the nail...fasten to a tree with wire...if they find food easier to get, they leave the feeders alone....but try to make some distance between the two feeders...please google wild birds unlimited or squirrel guards for more information....also I buy nuts in the shell and drop around trees away from my feeders.

Saw a picture of a bird feeder on a pole that had a slinky attached to it. Squirrel grabbed the slinky and his weight pulled it down along with him. Was funny to watch him try and try again....didn't work.

I have great luck with a pole that has a squirrel stopper attached. It is a tube that fits on the pole. You can get them almost anywhere and on Amazon.
