Flowers for desert landscape

I am tired of changing flowers in the flowerbed twice a year. What should I plant to give me color and would be permanent?

    sun or shade, moist or dry, southern state or northern, morning sun or evening?....look on pinterest.com under perennials for ideas...but first know answers to the above questions and the most important is your USDA zone...just google it

    I got tired of this same thing at our last house. I went to planting silk flowers!!! Really!! I got them at Michaels when I had coupons or at Walmart when they had sales. I received more compliments on my silk flowers than anything I ever grew! AND they looked real

      Thanks Vicki, I know, Gilbert is hot, thanks for your suggestion. I am planning to create a flower arrangement in a big pot with artificial flowers, and place a couple of solar lights in the middle.
