How can you keep the points of shirts from fraying?

My husband wears a white shirt to church every Sunday. When I wash and iron them, they look so frayed on the collar points. The knock-about shirts do the same thing. I would appreciate any suggestions you have. Thanks!

if under neath is fine take shirts and ask seamstress to reverse the shirt colar, I did this for years as a seamstress, it can be flipped to hide discolorataction of body sweat,,,or find material and cut into V shape and glue on the points, to match ties to white material for his shirt or very thin metal to glue on like western shirts

Western wear has metallic points on the tips. What about making white plastic point covers?
