    Ornamental grasses provide great cover. An alternative would be to build a trellis screen and plant Rose of Sharon or lilac bushes around it. Good luck with your project! I'd love to hear what you decide to do Dee Dee.

    If it was in my yard, I'd dig up & loosen the soil around is a little first, amend with some topsoil if the dirt is not very good. Then make a cylinder of a bit of chicken wire that is a little taller than the post and maybe5-10" wider, so it fits around it. Place this over the post, burying the wire a couple of inches for stabilit. Then seed with a vining plant- morning glory, moon flower, cypress vine around it. The vines will eventually cover it and bloom pretty too. for a little more, you could plant something evergreen like ivy.

    I am guessing you want to still keep it accessible...

    There are fake rocks to buy..

    ..or if you could find a hollow tree trunk

    ..or make a cute flower stand(1-3 little towers), a tall cute birdhouse, lighthouse....

    thank you I was thinking a light house or bird house I need to be able to see the light and remove it to get to the box . I have never built anything . Not sure of my carpenter skills !
