Any ideas on how to keep raccoons off of a bird feeder pole?

It is wrapped with a smooth aluminum stove pipe. There are foot prints all over the pipe and three suet feeders and all of the suet was on the ground this morning. We live in the woods and there re no trees that they could jump from in the vicinity of the pole. Know it is not squirrel since they don't like suet. Help, please.

I've seen a hilarious video of a bird feeder pole with a big slinky attached under the feeder. When the varmint gets onto the slinky, it stretches out, putting them right back to the ground.

Have you tried using a squirrel baffle (use it at least 4 feet above the ground). Since there's no tree's nearby you know they're climbing the pole so the baffle should prevent them. Raccoons are very sneaky! I've had a lot of experience with them camping & it's amazing what feats they go through to get food! Good luck!
