What can you do with a cable wire reel?

Hubby bought a lot of wire that came on a 10 1/2" diameter black plastic reel. I would say the inside width of support is 4-5". Seems a shame to dispose of it and I have another one that will be available for use in the next week. Any ideas?

They would make great plant stands.

I would paint it and and make a top out of wood or glass..
