Can you put Peonies in pots in North Mississippi?

    Yes! Just make sure you plant them in a place with full sun in well-drained beds.

    I have never heard of peonies in pots but you could try it with a large pot. They love full sun and well-drained soil. Peonies like cold winters, because they need the cold for bud formation. Some plants just don't do well in the hot south climates and this is one of them. Good luck I would love to hear how your plant does in the pot.

    I actually put one in a pot last year. It set out under trees all winter. It came up good and had pretty leaves but the buds dried up. I thought maybe the buds dried up because it was in a pot .
