I have never heard of peonies in pots but you could try it with a large pot. They love full sun and well-drained soil. Peonies like cold winters, because they need the cold for bud formation. Some plants just don't do well in the hot south climates and this is one of them. Good luck I would love to hear how your plant does in the pot.
