When planting tomatoes.....and they grow tall.... the deer seems to find an avenue to reach over fences into the yard to eat the leaves and tomato plants. What is the best method to keep them away.

Aside of having an 8-10 foot fence, the only thing that has worked for me is to spray my plants with hot sauce. They don't seem to like it.

Any spray with a hot, spicey scent will help ,however these are not proven just a deterrent.

Try spraying both the plants and the fence. Just remember you have to reapply to keep it spicy, especially if it rains.

2"X4" wire fence cages...put some corn out they like it much better, LOL... or automatic motion detection water sprinkler works too
