Removing wall paper isn't always the easiest task! Benjamin Moore has instructions on their website (link below) for painting over wallpaper. The key to success is the preparation of the surface. Good luck with your project. Please keep us updated on how your project turns out!

You can but you'll regret it. Sometimes the paper will bubble. If you ever want to take the paper down it makes it very hard to remove.

Also, it depends on where you are painting. We have a walk in pantry off of our kitchen that had ugly wallpaper and it was dizzying. Because it is just a pantry, we just painted over the wallpaper with white and it has been just fine, but again, is inside a walk in pantry, not a 'room' we spend time in. Now we are redoing our finished basement, and for this project we did remove all of the wallpaper because we have heard it is best not to paint over it.

Yes you can absolulely paint over wallpaper. Please make sure the paper is secure before you paint it and most importantly do NOT use latex primer! If you buy a shellac primer it will give a good surface to adhere to and secure and seal the wallpaper without causing bubbles or lifts. Paint with whatever your heart desires after that.
