Do a search for "magnet screen for door" on Google. These magnet doors are easy to install and provides pets full freedom to go in and out of the house.

If you allow the cat to go out, they make screens that will seal with magnets. It will let the cat move through freely. If you do not want the cat out they make screens that have grill or plastic on the bottom.

they sell metal grates at the home stores that you can just screw into the frame of the sliding screen door. Make sure you know the width before you go so you can get the perfect size

We have the screen door where the screen is only in the top half and our hybrid cat has never gotten up that high. We do have a dog door, but is the extra kind with a double door in it to help keep the winter air from coming in the house and she has never gotten out that either. I guess we have been lucky with our cat. I would try the pet resistant screen first, I have had the magnet close screen and it never closed right and had gaps that would let in mosquitos.
