    You can use mulch under the tree so that you don't need toworry about the roots getting in the way, And flowers that grow well in mulch include begonias, petunias, and marigolds- you've got this!

      Good to know! I imagine I would need the fine bark mulch, and I would go with the begonias as they would do well in shade. Thank you!
