It is a cheap way to go versus replacing. Only problem is that it will sink again over time. Mudjacking is pumping a slurry of concrete under a concrete pad to raise and level it. The concrete pad sunk due to weight of the concrete pad and soil displacement. Adding more concrete increases the weight on the soil and hence It will sink again. Some companies are using expanding foam to raise concrete pads and eliminate the added weight. Only problem is the foam tends to break down and generally lasts about five years or so.
From what I understand, it's not just the weight of the concrete but also the flow of water from weather. I would make sure that things are draining accurately before spending money to raise and level the concrete .
determine the problem and fix that first or anything you do will be in vane....for instance...is there any natural path for water flow that is eroding the under soil..if so divert the water first. if you are in an area with snowy winters and have frost heave and then spring comes,the concrete is weak and will either stay heaved or sink down...this requires a different fix. do you have proper expansion joints, shrub edging and trees cause different problems ...the list of problems goes on....but what ever it is fix it first, then the concrete
