Make a solution of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda into a paste and apply to the stain. Then wash with a mild soap and rinse.

What type of stain? You can try hydrogen peroxide on it. If it is a protein based stain then you'll need an enzymatic cleaner. I use the ones sold in WalMart in their Vacuum and Floor Cleaning department (originally used for pet stains). Works great!

make a paste of baking soda and water and scrub the mattress. Let it sit until the paste dries. Then vacuum the mattress.
