Frayed carpet in corner, how to mask?

My cat has scratched out a piece of carpet by my closet, How can I fix (or mask) the spot?

Can you put a plant, an ottoman, a bookcase or even a waste basket over the place? If your carpet is fairly new, a carpet layer can take a piece out of the closet or under the bed and patch the place that your cat distroyed.
Hopefully you have some carpet scraps tucked away. If not, trim your carpet in the back of the closet and glue in the bald spots. I had a puppy chew up my carpet at the seams, know what it is like. Good luck.
