Need Remedy For Repelling Ants In The Home

It's ant time in my house....kitchen and bathroom mostly. I've put ant traps on windowsills where I've seen some come in. But that doesn't help and they seem to be every where. I am fairly neat and do not leave food out. I even have put cereals and dry goods in jars. Does anyone have a good home remedy for repelling them? I've heard Borax works but haven't tried it yet. Thanks for any help,!

You can try borax, cornmeal, spray the counters down with essential peppermint oil mixed with water, and treat outside with food grade diatomaceous earth.

We get the big black ants really bad every Spring, especially after heavy rains. The Terro-type traps work well indoors (as long as we resist the urge to kill them!) but most of the time we locate the nest(s) outside. Patio black or other decorative rocks, flower pots or planters, even large fallen limbs are where we usally find them...those little buggers are drawn to any little dark spot they can find! Show them no mercy, spray with a good outdoor insecticide and you'll be surprised how much that will help!

Use peppermint oil... take a cotton ball and pour the oil on and stroke it around the areas the ants are coming in. Around window frames. Door frames. Counter tops. Test it and you will see.... make a ring around a couple of ants.... they won't come out of the circle!

borac acid in drops on the window sills, door threshold, wherever you see them...difficult to find...comes in a tube like super glue....ask reputable exterminators if they sell it.

I am allergic to pesticides so I use vinegar to spay where ever I see them. Follow their trail spaying all the way. It takes a couple of days but they go away.

Thank you. My ants seem to come in through the walls or something as I don't see any specific holes..either in the walls or outside in the dirt.
