I think white would look reallly great in your space, I'm excited to see how it comes out!
Maybe think about putting an island in. It looks like you have the space for one
Why not put the fridge to the right of the tall cabinets and add a narrow island? If you do that, I'd stick with white.
Space looks fantastic for an island! Great windows with natural light could make off white cabinets really brighten up the whole room. I would leave that space with the windows near the door open as well.
Wow you've go a great kitchen space to work with! White would look fantastic. I also like the look where the refrigerator is boxed in so it looks like part of the cabinetry. I hope you keep us updated on the makeover!
I just got rid of my oak cupboards for new white -- now looks X2 as big. (beware new door sizes don't always fit to older cupboard frames. Also, painted coarse oak grain may widen with humidity & time.). Consider inserting beadboard to center of some cupboard doors or use for a backsplash. The bright area to right of fridge could hold built-in banquet with small table as a breakfast nook. AN island down the center with seating would look great & extend storage. I used beadboard on mine & so many people compliment me. Install lots of "task" & "counter" lighting - a kitchen that size will have dim spots. I outlined my floorplan with masking tape & a few pieces of cardboard to help visualize it better. My kitchen is white & black with touches of red & turquoise & it's bright & cherry, even on the gloomiest days. Hope this helps & Good luck & enjoy.
You are very welcome . Can't wait to see the pics when you are all finished
btw. Love the windows behind your counter
Definitely white for the cabinets with maybe soapstone or cement counter tops. If possible, a large working island with seating on one side with ship lap or bead board walls. Engineered hardwood floors would be spectacular. For budget purposes visit your local Habitat Resale Store. It's a wonderful opportunity to get creative. I recently applied laminate flooring horizontally on my bathroom walls and it looks great. 2 full boxes cost me $5.00 at the resale store. Best of luck with your special reno.
