  • Find out where they are coming in. I have used flour to smother the next. Or vinegar to burn it out.

Thanks Janet. I did apply the peppermint essential oil....only I didn't realize a little goes a long way. The fumes over took the entire house!! My son came out of his room and wondered why it smelled like someone was cooking toothpaste! My husband came home and immediately started opening the doors and windows!!! But a few ants are still hangin around. See what tomorrow brings.

Every time we get ants in the kitchen, it has been because I have brought in a new pot of flowers for the kitchen window garden, or because tiny outside ants have found a sweet potato I have rooted in a jar. It's something to check, at least. Best wishes!

I like Victors all natural ant spray, its mainly peppermint. Ants leave a trail that the other colony members can follow to the food source, so unless you get rid of the trail, they will return. The best solution i've found is to spray the house foundation and all door openings.
