Paint Shoes? Who Knew?

Do your shoes need an update? You can use chalk-based paint to give them a whole new look! Check out all the ways I've painted shoes.
We made a video of my granddaughter painting her shoes with the chalk-based paint we sell and use - Missouri Limestone Paint Company. Watch the video and if you like what you see, be sure to follow me as I'm always posting tips and tutorials for chalk-based painting on my facebook page.

Of course, her brother had to have a pair, too. I made the stencil of Darth Vader on my Silhouette machine using contact paper. The canvas shoes did not require a sealer. I just let me cure naturally.
That was so much fun to do with the grandkids. I also had a pair of old, scuffed leather shoes that had seen better days. I was about to throw but decided to give chalk-based paint a try on them. A little clear Briwax and then a good buffing with a shoe polish buffer sponge and they truly looked like new. I have worn them about 5 or 6 times since then and they still look great!
Another view of my like new navy blue shoes
But that's not all.....we not only sell chalk-based paint, we paint furniture to sell with it, too. This is one of our Pinterest inspired chairs. And guess what? The Cat in the Hat is sporting some great painted shoes in the color called "Field Corn".
And last, but by no means finally, as I fully intend to paint more shoes, is my newest pair. I had a new pair of jeans and a jacket that were crying out for a pair of shoes to match. So, I obliged. The outfit is a greenish/gray color. So, this time I took a pair of cheap fake leather shoes I had and mixed some Missouri Limestone Paint Company "Cupboard Green" with a little "Sunday Silver". I finished them with the wax and buffing and Voila! I have a like new pair of shoes that are a pretty close match. And just think of all the money I saved.

Wow! I have thrown out good shoes that could have used this technique! Especially the Lucky Brand leather flats that scuff so badly with age. Brilliant!

oh, the Dr. Seuss chair is adorable!!!❤️
