I have two mature Sago palms. One is male and the other is female. The female one makes "dates" that contain palm seeds. The male has numerous offshoots. The female plant has fewer offshoots. I suggest using the offshoots rather than trying to grow from seed.

I had myself a Sago Palm, I purchased in FL. I had it for years in a pot. I paid 1$ for it, as it was a tiny, itty, bitty, guy. I took it to my state then, in MS......It grew and grew. I brought it to VA., planted it in the ground and it grew like a bad weed, BUT then that Devil came.......COLD weather and Plop, off it went. VA. gets very hot and humid like FL., but we have 4 seasons.......NOT bitter, but obviously too cold for my Sago. I WAS sick, since I am a plant lover !!! I can't remember NOW, if it was male or female......I could of told you then....Sorry!
