What can I use fo an Outside protective coating for wood?

I got an old table that I want to paint and put on my open air porch- what can I use to protect it from the elements?

The sealant for wood decking would work great for this.
Marine grade varnish.
Ditto the marine grade varnish.
I've never use marine-grade varnish, I have to check that out. I also know you can use polyurethane to protect your project, as well. Either apply with a paint brush or spray it on.
