Help for old couch!

You can reupholster them! It sounds daunting, but many Hometalkers have done it and you can totally do it. You can choose a fabric that you love and go for it :) here is a great tutorial:

I agree with Cori Widen's idea! Maybe you can get someone to help with a DIY project? A post about a sofa turned into patio seat led me here. Upholstery sounds daunting to me, tho'. I'd need help. Am sorry I ditched 3 older love seats 5 yrs ago. They could've been reused! With 3 indoor & elderly felines I keep slip-covers AND sheets on my sofa & love-seat! Nothing wrong with it! I choose sheets that 'match' the lvg. rm. Best of luck to you!

If reupholstering sounds too dauntin, you can get a nice fabric and wrap them and secure on the bottom with elastic and clips...I've done it and the elastic has give so it keeps the fabric taut...the clips I've found at JoAnns Fabric.

Take it to a professional upholsterer. Not EVERYTHING is "DIY"

If you don't have pets this will work. Cut fabric the exact size PLUS 1 inch on all sides. Fold over the edge 1/2 inch and press. Use spray adhesive from craft store and glue the fabric on existing cover. Be sure you have the fabric pattern cut from paper before you start. For a cushion you will have a top,bottom and side. You have to be precise. If the edges need something use piece of fabric cut in a strip and glue the top to sides covering the edges. You can even a welt that fabric stores sell. My sofa is still sharp after 16 months. I used a spray fabric protector. Total cost was $43.00.

do you have any friends or family that knows how to sew. ask them if they can make cushions for you, you can go and get foam for your cushions, at a place that sells foam supplies. and ask them to stuff your cushions.replacing foam in your customs will add so much comfort
