I love the options this Hometalker offers. Maybe one of these privacy fences will serve as a good inspiration for you.

You can hang up a tarp or privacy screen around the perimeter. They run pretty cheap!

Complete privacy sounds like walls, is this what you are looking for? If not semi private is what I'm trying to do on half of my front porch (I don't have a back porch/deck) and I'm trying to do it for free! So far so good.

I have a post on this already and will be adding to it in a few days.

Here are a couple of suggestions...

    1) Trellis with netting attached or hanging plants.

    2) Curtains.

    3) Planters ( floor and/or hanging).

    4) Canvas sails ( look up pier and boat rail canvas)

You can get those from walmart pretty cheap. They are used for privacy on terrace/balconies!

    Good luck with your project!

This is something my family has done in the past! You know the volleyball post the are cemented in old tires! We made 7 of those or you could use tall fence post. And take a old flat bedsheet and good rope or string. We used string! You cut the sheets to the height and width that you want! Make the top and bottom of the sheet with a fold over the sting. Like making a draw string. What we also did if you wanted to go the extra mile you can also divide the sheets in half between each of the poles and then when you are not needing so much privacy you can open them like a curtain and then tie them back using the post.
