Not sure if you are referring to what is also called deer moss or reindeer moss, but if so, it is actually a lichen, not a moss. It is also very cool stuff. Look up some of its uses, but if you're not interested, you can sell it by the bag to your local florist. Walmart sells a 3 oz bag for $15.49 so you can see why you shouldn't try to remove it from your yard. You have a treasure trove there!!
