How do I transplant a lily from pot to ground?

    Make the hole 2x bigger,put peat moss in the bottom ,fill the soil in and tamp out the air .

    Loosen dirt from inside pot. Dig hole in a location that gets good drainage and sunshine. Lift plant out of pot carefully, making sure roots arent tight. Place into newly dug hole. Backfill with dirt. Water a little daily.

    Good explanations above. Also, your lily may be ready to separate. This might be more than you want to do but when you're in the process of reporting, look to see if there are multiple bulbs that you can gently separate and plant them individually to create more plants that will each grow larger of course.

    Dig a hole bigger than your pot, place the flower and the soil in the hole, and cover it with the soil you removed.
