    Sprinkle cinnamon around and treat out doors with food grade diatomaceous earth.

    I deal with this each year. I live in the country and there is only one thing I use. Terro ant killer. They love the stuff and take it back to feed to the rest of the ants. It kills the lot of them. I have tried other brands but Terro is the one that really works.

    Sorry Hillela, but they will find even the smallest gap to get into and hence nigh impossible to close EVERY gap. The best way is to locate where their nest is, or a track of them and place Ant Sand around the nest or where they are coming in, if you can find it.

    I agree with Laurie. Terro ant killer is great. It is in liquid form in little plastic traps. You cut off the end and place it in or near the trail of ants. They start going in and out almost immediately. The other brands work pretty well too. I've had one brand in yellow tubes that actually worked better, but can't find it now.

    For outside ants, like fire ants, granules are the best. We have used Amdro in the past with great results.
