How are you all able to do a good tutorial?

I have been DIYing for 30 yrs. I have always taken before and after pics of my work. My pictures are not very good, a video ,non existing. I can create anything and make anything just by having a visual. I cannot seem to stop in the middle of a project for during pics. I have not been posting my projects because I lack in the tutorial department and I hate being on my computer. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.

It's a common challenge for creative types, for sure, and I love your determination! We really appreciate you as a member of our community and please reach out if we can help!

It's awesome that you want to share tutorials Diane! I recommend starting with a smaller project with a few steps and deliberately stop to take photos of your process (or get a helper to take the photos while you are working). Then narrow it down to which photos capture the essential steps.

That's great Diane! You could focus on one aspect of a larger project for the tutorial. For example, if your project was sewing a shirt, instead of a tutorial on the entire shirt, you could focus the tutorial part on how to sew a perfect button hole. I'm looking forward to your first project.

I think because I have always been able to create and figure out how to make anything Just by seeing it I cant seem to make my brain give instruction on something I can make without instruction, and actually it is much easier for me. I think the creative side of my brain is much stronger than the otherside which is really quite challenging when I need or want it. I have posted some of my work cant say that there is much of a tutorial but I have so many projects I've done that I would like to share. I'm going to try my best and maybe if I keep doing it I will get better at it.I am so inspired by everyone on Hometalk and I hope my work inspires others even if I cant tell them exactly how it was done.
