Do I have to strip down my dining table before painting it?

    it depends what kind of paint your using, does it have a glossy sheen currently? If glossy lightly sand it clean it well and prime and paint. If chalk painting you can skip all that and clean it extremely well and paint.

  • yes, it really depends on the current finish and what paint you are going to use. A light sanding never hurts.

      thank you. It's kind of a matte finish but has some scratches. I think I should sand it first.

    if you clean it well and lightly sand it, you should not need to completely strip it.
