How can I disquise or camouflage a submersible well pump/tank?

These submersible well pumps/tanks are a common eyesore where I live. I have one like this (blue that I painted tan) in my front yard on a concrete slab. Thankfully it is near the edge of my yard but it sticks out like a sore thumb. I am not fond of the idea of a little shed built over it and I have considered plants but their roots could be grow into the well so that's not good. I would love to hear other's ideas about a way to down play it.
An ugly but necessary eyesore. Mine is tan and on a cement slab.

Many years ago, we used to live in a house in the country that had a well pump, and it was a complete eyesore as well. Our solution was to gather rocks from around the property and stack them to build a wishing well surrounding the pump. We then built a small roof for the well and it did a great job of covering up the eyesore. I hung a small metal bucket in the well...and put a couple of plants into that eventually draped over the edges. You could also build a well with bricks...just stacked so they won't be permanent in case you need easy access to the well.

Michele that is adorable. My father in law built a little windmill over his.

I'd love to see a picture of the windmill. I like that idea a lot!
